Feliciano Done For The Year?

Posted: April 14, 2011 in Uncategorized

Yankees Manager Joe Girardi reported that the MRI on Pedro Feliciano’s shoulder revealed it was damaged. Feliciano is scheduled to see Dr. James Andrew and will find out if he will have to undergo surgery. Yankees General Manager Brian Cashman, compared the injury to ex Yankees’ pitcher Chein-Ming Wang. The most likely scenario for Feliciano is season ending surgery, which will hurt the Yankees’ bullpen down the line. Cashman had something to say about the NY Mets management when he called them out for “abusing” Feliciano. Feliciano has pitched almost 300 innings in the last five years. That comes out to an average of 60 innings per year….He’s got a point

Derron Staying in New Jersey?

Posted: April 14, 2011 in Uncategorized

After a long, eye soaring season, there is a reason for Nets fans to have hope. Derron Williams spoke to the media yesterday after cleaning out his locker, and has left the Nets organization, and fans very optimistic. Derron told reports, “I like the organization a lot,’’ said Williams. “I like the direction it’s going. I could definitely see myself staying here.’’ He added that he’d prefer to get things done sooner rather than later. “I would like to not have the distraction (of looming free agency) during the season,’’ he said. So, do not be surprised to see D-Will sign his extension this off-season, so he does not have to go through what Carmelo Anthony went through. This is great news for Net fans. Having a billionaire owner who is willing to spend money, having a top point guard in the league signed to a long deal, moving to a new arena in Brooklyn, are all things to me which look like a very bright future.

6 Prospects Visit The NY Jets

Posted: April 13, 2011 in Uncategorized

Earlier today 6 NFL prospects visited the NY Jets at Florham Park. These players were UCLA OLB Akeem Ayers, Wisconsin OT Gabe Carimi, Texas CB Chykie Brown, Louisville RB Bilal Powell, Stanford DT Siona Fua, and Buffalo CB Josh Thomas. The 2 popular names here are Akeem Ayers and Gabe Carimi. Ayers and Carimi are both 1st round prospects and would be two good selections for the Jets if they are available at pick #30. Ayers is getting selected by the Jets in many mock drafts, and is a player who I believe would be a solid addition to the Jets defense. (Can’t be worse then the last OLB the Jets selected… Vernon GHOSTon.) With Jason Taylor being released and Bryan Thomas up there in age, the Jets need help at OLB. The other prospect who would be a great selection at pick #30 is Carimi. Carimi is one of the top OT in this years draft and usually OT’s are chosen early. If Carimi is available I say go get him. With Damien Woody gone and not knowing what Ducasse can provide, Carimi is definitely an intriguing prospect. The last prospect that might end up in Green and White in the later rounds is Brown, who is a solid CB from Texas, who already had a private workout with the Jets DB Dennis Thurman and has now visited the Jets at Florham Park.
